TALE 22 - Aquatic Adventures
Come to our 22nd TX Annual Letterbox Event (TALE) as we celebrate all things aquatic. This includes anything living or taking place in water, such as lakes, rivers, or oceans. Though letterboxes and water don’t usually mix well, hopefully we can celebrate being on a lake without boxes getting wet.
Date: Saturday, 03/01/25
Time: 10:00 am - 09:00 pm
Location: Group Hall in Lake Livingston SP - Livingston, TX
Directions: From Hwy 59 go southwest on FM 1988 for 4 miles, right on FM 3126 for 0.5 mi, then left into Lake Livingston Park at 300 State Park Rd 65. Pay fee and get a trail map, then continue straight to the Group Hall.
Details: Sign up for this event on Atlas Quest so we have a headcount. We will begin by exchanging, stamping the event stamp, and obtaining clues. We will have a copier to print clues for boxes placed during the event. There will NOT be a potluck lunch since there is no kitchen and space is limited, so bring your own food and drinks. We will play TX Bingo around 06:30 pm Saturday, a game where you stamp a card with TX symbols carved by Baby Bear and hope I call them in the right order for you to win a prize. We will provide prizes, but voluntary donations and money for expenses are appreciated. FYI no pets allowed in Hall. Reservations for Day Use entry to the park are available 1 month in advance and are recommended.
Accommodations: There are tent/RV sites and a few screened shelters that can be reserved online 5 months in advance. Hotels nearby are in Livingston within Polk County.
Other Nearby Activities: Big Thicket National Preserve and Sam Houston National Forest.
