bookcrossing

Hi
I wonder what you think about this idea? I have found this site
www.bookcrossing.com. The idea is that you read a book and then register it
on this site and then it can be tracked by its unique reg. number. You then
release it in to the wild and when someone picks it up they go to the site
and log it's find. I thought it might be fun to place a book in a letterbox
and follow it's travels like a hitchhiker.

You might give bookcrossers a heart-attack if you tell them
something like that! ;o) They like to read the books, not alter
them. http://www.bookcrossing.com

We're slowly starting to accept altering books...as long as you pick
the right books to alter ;P Bookcrossing is basically leaving
books "in the wild" for other people to find, and tracking them on
their "journey". Its a lot of fun and addicting! Altering books
sounds kind of neat, but sounds like it requires some art skills that
I'm afraid I lack :(

What do you mean by altering books? The bookcrossing sounds fun to.

Shannon,

More info on altered books can be found here:

http://jennysartspace.com/alteredbooks/

I love looking at them, but can't personally bring myself to cover
up pages in a book, so I haven't created any. I've seen some
beautiful ones, though.

Hope that helps you out.
