Bonnie,

Congratulations on your letterbox finds. It is a great feeling
indeed!

Ditto on your new Shieling Forest box. I can't wait to get down
again. I posted your clues a few minutes ago. You can access them at

http://www.sover.net/~tcooch/shieling.htm

or through our maps.

Hey everybody! I've got a letterboxing high because yesterday I found my
first two letterboxes. It was a gorgeous, sunny but not overly hot day, and
I set off for Peterborough, New Hampshire feeling sure that this time I'd
locate Nisa's Shieling Forest box. And I did! It's a wonderful location,
not to be missed. While there I hid a second box in Shieling Forest; the
clue follows.

I then drove north and sought out the Welton Falls letterbox and found that
one too. Danielle's driving directions are absolutely perfect, by the way,
and the location takes you off the highways and onto quiet gravel backroads.
Very nice spot. The falls were rather gentle due to the recent drought
but that meant I could easily hike in the river, jumping from one big stone
to another.

Thanks Nisa and Danielle for a very happy day in New Hampshire!

Here is the clue for Shieling Forest Letterbox #2, in Peterborough, New
Hampshire:

Consult the trail guide kept in a mailbox by the parking lot, then follow
the clue for Shieling Forest Letterbox #1. After you've found it, return to
the spot where two were once whole. Proceed north to the rocky wall. Don't
get the blues, instead head east, keeping the stone wall to your left, until
you come to a trail marker. The name of this trail, with the addition of a
single letter, would denote the perfect place to get yourself some ice cubes
for your water bottle. Turn right and walk down the trail approximately 30
paces and stop. To your right there are two tall trees marked with white
blazes. To your left, about 10 paces off the trail, there are two boulders.
Shieling Forest Letterbox #2 nestles beneath one of them and offers two
stamps designed with lovers of maple trees in mind.

Enjoy! I hope to hide more boxes here in sunny Massachusetts today....
Bonnie

WTG, Bonita!!

I'm so psyched you put up another box there! I guess I'll have to go
visit the Forest again to find yours!

Bonnie:
Good for you! Finding two boxes and adding another! Boulder-hopping in
the river is a great way to get close to the scenery - My New Haven
River boxes (planned, sketched, locations determined, but STAMP NOT
CARVED! UGH!) will afford a similar pleasure - including one under a
waterfall.

Just gotta do it!

I hope you can take a swing through VT soon - let us now!
Erik and Susan
