I also have noticed this ... but from a different perspective: I am in New
England, and every time I see a posting with NE, I think "Oh well, that's
not for me because it is in Nebraska!!"

Heh heh... I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me, too!

Thanks for bringing that up.

And while we're on the subject, could you please not use NE as an
abbreviation for New England. NE is the postal abbr. for Nebraska.
Every time I see it, I think "Great! Another Letterbox to Find!" And
then I see inside the e-mail that it is for Maine or Vermont or the
like. So PLEASE, for the sake of the heart of an aging man stop my
emotional rollercoaster!

There are four in the entire state of Nebraska. You New Englanders
have at least that many in your neighborhood park. :)

But that means that you can plant some!!!! I would love to have more
opportunities to plant some! It is impossible around here to find any place
that is not already overflowing with them!

And BTW, I am on your side! I am saying that NE means Nebraska and should
not be used to refer to New England.

New England need never be used when you think about it. Everybody should be
using the state anyway in the subject line. If they aren't, it's certainly
easy enough to correct it. In fact, I just may have done so right now.

Well, the 4-hearted Fittons are off to the land of Disney in Florida
tomorrow (Thursday). Thanks must go to my son, whose soccer exploits have
us following him, again. We plan to find the letterboxes that someone
recently planted on the Disney grounds. We'll report back as to whether or
not they're still there. I'm off to the map now to see if there are any
others located in the Orlando/Kissimmee area.

Mark,

What about New England area Mystery Boxes? (Stirring
up the buzzing bee's when I think the topic is now
absurd and useless as a dead horse, except for glue
and dog food of course (amfram)).
