hostility

i was so surprised that when i got home this evening and read my
email, that there are some people that just dont understand
the "sport" of letterboxing. in everything that you do, at some
point you do run across people who you dont like or whatever. its
just you have to learn to deal with it. Letterboxing is out there
for those who like a challange. For those looking for a way to bond
with family or friends. For those looking to meet other people. I
have become so addicted that I'm glad I found it. I am still fairly
new to what I call a "sport" and I love the many stamps I have
collected in such a short time. Who cares if someone stamps are
better that someone elses. I don't! Frankly, my stamps in the boxes
I have placed, stink. It's not the stamp that makes the box, I think
it is the fact that, any one box could bring anyone, to a location
that had never once thought about going to. I have been to some of
the most beautifulest places that I didn't know exsisted. I have
seen some pretty boring stamps, and mine fall into that category,
but to me, it's another stamp I don't already have. If someone has a
problem with letterboxing, than keep quiet, or leave. This is a
fun "sport". Lets keep it that way.

p.s. sorry if i hurt anyones feelings!

Yes, the problem seems to be that the terms "good sport" and "sportsmanship"
(or more p.c. "sportspersonship") have largely lost their meaning. We see it
when irate parents attack coaches or players on the field; we also see it
when people attack each other on this list. It doesn't hurt to be nice,
pleasant or gracious. It actually feels good (I promise!) and makes the
world a just a little bit better.
