In south Louisiana, the fried doughnuts are called beignets
(pronounced "bane-yays") and are the BEST! Enjoy them with cafe au
lait.

Happy hunting in New Orleans,

And in south Louisiana, the large sandwiches are called Po-boys.
The best are Shrimp po-boys, oyster po-boys, and (my favorite)
crawfish po-boys.

Instead of an oyster po-boy, I prefer an oyster loaf - fried oysters
in a hollowed out loaf of good crusty french bread with a good spicy
cocktail sauce poured over it, then reheated in the oven wrapped in
foil.

Enjoy them all with Abita Turbo Dog.

Happy hunting in Baton Rouge,
Zed

Turbo Dog, now there's a brew to put hair on your chest or strip
paint off your car! ;-) I've not had any since my days of traveling
to Houston...(a local Cajun place used top import it from LA!)...

Speaking from Rho Dyland:

I'd have a grinder with a coffee cabinet and drink from a bubbler.

And I don't do fried.

Here in Upstate NY

We'd have a sub, and if we wanted a hot coffee
beverage we'd order a frappe. If we wanted a cold
ice-cream drink we'd order a milkshake. And for
dessert, a funnel cake!!!

Oh ... almost forgot the soda!

Hmm, I always though Upstate was Pop country. But looking at the
map, it seems like the Finger Lakes is the border of Soda vs Pop:

So, by that extrapolation I place you guys in eastern NY

Perhaps an idea for some Letterboxes (Soda vs Pop)!
