MasterCarve

From: TeamKing (teamking@entouch.net) | Date: 2004-09-28 22:50:09 UTC-05:00
Anyone have a clever way to cut apart the MasterCarve material? I like
this stuff, but it's too thick. Any thoughts on how to slice it in half
easily so I don't have to just keep carving it down?

Thanks

Thanks

Obviously use the utmost caution - I sliced my finger open with a
giant knife doing just that!

If you have some sort of clamps, kind of like they use in wood-working, that might help from cutting the fingers. You could stand the MasterCarve between the clamps and then not have to worry about holding it and cutting it at the same time...

I haven't tried it on MasterCarve, but I think you should be able to
slice through it with dental floss-loop the dental floss around the
piece right where you want the cut to be and then slowly pull the ends
to collapse the loop. You might have to get someone to hold the block
steady for you because you are trying to cut on a small edge to begin
with.
