I need some help. . .is there a special technique to carving small
letters? I have tried Speedball & Staedtler #1s, and an Exacto knife,
but still can't seem to get in between the letters very well. . .is it
one of those things you just have to keep at until you get it?
Thanks

If you squeeze down a #1 Speedball with a pair of vise grips you can
narrow the blade and this will work better than a regular #1.
Make sure you have a few #1 blades prior to doing this as it takes a
few failures to get what you want.

Somewhere I think I posted and will here repeat myself . . . as I do
in real life . . .oh, this is my life!
I found in the quilt supply area of Total Crafts an xacto style knife
called STENCIL KNIFE. It has a much smaller, as in narrower, blade
and a slenderer handle. Oh, I remember, there was a web site for a
different brand, but here is an xacto supplier:
http://www.widgetsupply.com/page/WS/PROD/BDM22
And with the smaller blade cuts, my hands heal faster.
