To those who have questioned the moderator regarding the pornography ad on
the site.....I agree that it is offensive... however, moderating the list is
not a paid position, it is a volunteer one. I myself have moderated lists
not nearly as active as this one and personally, if one of the members would
have addressed me in the tone of the posts I read I think I would have
politely asked them to unsubscribe. Why not ask kindly to have them removed
rather than in the tone that came across in the posts. Not everyone visits
every section of the site, the moderator is probably not even aware that
those links are there.
My apologies if I was mistaken regarding the tone in which these posts were
written, but they did come across as rather abrupt.

revealed shocking pictures. Anything less than that on the matter does not

Not trying to sound rude here...but you should be monitoring any 8 year old's internet usage. He shouldn't just be clicking around. The letterboxing site is not one I would allow him on unsupervised just because it is mostly adults that post.
I agree with the fact that the moderators should have been contacted directly in a nice way. Reading all these rude posts (in conjunction with the posts about geocachers) has made me reconsider staying on this list. Which is too bad because I think the majority of the people here are super!
How's the saying go? A couple bad apples ruin the bunch?
Bottom line is if you don't like the posts on the list you can
a. nicely contact the moderators
b. opt to cancel out of the list or
c. volunteer to be a moderator!
But I don't believe you should send such inflammatory comments about it!
